Shopping
Locally produced items can be purchased form many souvenir shops found throughout the island and the Cyprus Handicraft Centres. Particular items of interest include leather goods, ceramics, copperware, woven goods (curtains, tablecloths) silverware and traditional hand made lace.
Local wines spirits can be purchased from supermarkets and grocery stores, souvenir shops and supermarkets remain open until late in the evening and all day on Sunday in most tourist areas.
In towns, shops close at 19:00hrs during the Winter period (November – March) and at 20:30 hrs during the Summer period (April – October). In the height of the summer (15 th June – 31 st August) shops in towns close between 14:00 – 17:00 hrs.
Shops in towns are closed on Sunday and close at 14:00hrs on Wednesday and Saturday. Leading up to Christmas and Easter, shops usually remain open until late evening.
Pharmacies / Chemists
Pharmacies and chemists stay open during normal shopping hours. Late night pharmacies and chemists are listed in the daily papers and can be found through the following automatic telephones:
